San Ramon, our home base, is located in the central jungle of Peru. Though only 180 miles from the capital city of Lima, the winding narrow highway over and through the Andes Mountains make for about an 8 hour drive. But don’t blink or you’ll miss something! As elevation quickly rises, the scenery quickly changes. You will get to see the mountains change from barren and mostly rocky on the Pacific coast, up to the snowcapped mountain pass of Ticlio at 16,000 feet, and back down to the beautiful, dense, and majestic green in the Amazon.
San Ramón is the first city when you make it down into the jungle out of the mountains. And for us, it is home.
